**The training certificate recognizes our university EMI skills**Adelaide University offers "2026 Public EMI course"

To support educators in developing effective English-medium teaching skills, Adelaide University English Language Centre offers the “English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI)” professional development program. The program is designed for current and future educators who teach or plan to teach academic subjects in English.

Ⅰ. Program Overview
   The program adopts an interactive and practice-oriented approach, including lesson observation, peer teaching, and reflective feedback to enhance teachers’ confidence and effectiveness in EMI classrooms.
   This 40-hour practical training program covers:
  1. EMI teaching methodologies and classroom interaction strategies
  2. English classroom communication skills
  3. Teaching demonstrations and feedback
  4. EMI teaching applications in the AI era
Ⅱ. Program Features
  1. Student-centered and interactive teaching approaches
  2. Practical EMI teaching activities with professional feedback
  3. Development of classroom communication and instructional language skills
  4. Access to dedicated EMI teaching resources
  5. Continued access to learning materials after course completion
Ⅲ. Target Participants
  1. University and college faculty members
  2. Teachers interested in developing EMI courses
  3. Secondary school teachers
  4. Graduate students in education-related fields
  5. Senior undergraduate students in education programs
Ⅳ. Applicants are recommended to have an English proficiency level equivalent to IELTS 5.5 or above.
Ⅴ. Course Modules
  1. Module 1 (26hrs): Introduces student-centered learning, interactive teaching strategies, and EMI classroom practices through observation and teaching demonstrations.

  2. ​Module 2 (8hrs): Focuses on classroom language, instructional communication, and interaction skills for EMI teaching.

  3. Module 3 (6 hrs): Participants conduct EMI teaching demonstrations and receive feedback from instructors and peers.
