If you are qualified for the English Teaching Subsidy, please submit the application form as follows by Mar. 2, 2026 (Mon.).

I. According to【National Chung Hsing University Directions of Subsidy for All-English Courses and Degree Programs】III.(5) (see Appendix III), ESAP or EMI courses may apply for one of the following subsidies:
1. Teaching Hour Incentive: Teaching hours for each course in the relevant semester may be calculated at 1.5 times the regular rate; however, the total number of additional teaching hours shall remain subject to the University’s regulations governing teaching hours.
2. Teaching Subsidy or Teaching Material Subsidy: Teachers who meet the minimum required teaching hours in the relevant semester may apply for a teaching subsidy for newly offered courses, or a teaching material subsidy for continuing courses. The amounts of the above subsidies shall be calculated in accordance with the tiered standards based on student enrollment numbers (please refer to Article III.(5)-2 of these Directions). Enrollment figures shall be determined based on the number of students enrolled as of the first working day following the end of the online add/drop period. Each teacher may receive subsidies for no more than two courses.

II. For EMI courses, 100% of the delivery of content, teacher-student interaction, the learning materials, and the demonstration and assessment of learning outcomes (such as oral presentations, assignments, or tests) should be in English. In certain circumstances, students may interact with each other in Mandarin, meanwhile, teachers should ensure that at least 70% of classroom communication is in English. And for the sake of convenience, teachers have the option to modify the column of "Teaching Language" and "English/EMI" through the maintenance page of the syllabus (For details, please refer to the Operation Manual in Appendix IV. The deadline for this semester is 8:00 a.m., February 28, 2026.).

III. Courses receiving subsidies under these Guidelines shall comply with the following requirements:
1. Courses shall be conducted in English and shall implement the all-English teaching feedback questionnaire provided by the Bilingual Education Resource Center.
2. Instructors shall obtain a certificate of completion for an EMI Teaching Enhancement course approved by the Bilingual Education Resource Center within two years from the semester in which the subsidy is granted.
3. Instructors shall cooperate with the implementation of the classroom observation mechanism, participate in teaching observations, and complete the All-English Courses Classroom Observation Form (see Appendix V).

Office of Academic Affairs may evaluate the effectiveness of all-English courses funded by this subsidy every semester. Subsidy allocated to courses that fail to comply with the above requirements will be cut or canceled according to the situation. Moreover, these courses shall be reevaluated in the future.

If the teaching faculty is employed by another unit, please forward this form over.
