NCHU EMI Teaching and Learning Center: 2024 English Medium Instruction Enhancement Tools Project
To help university teachers develop more diverse skills and practical tools for English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) teaching, the National Chung Hsing University EMI Teaching and Learning Center (hereinafter referred to as "the Center") is collaborating with Oxford EMI Ltd (hereinafter referred to as "Oxford") to implement the 2024 EMI Enhancement Tools Project. Through videos and materials developed by Oxford's EMI training team, the project aims to teach various pedagogical methods, improve teachers' EMI teaching quality, and enhance EMI course learning outcomes. Teachers who complete this project will receive an Oxford EMI electronic certificate.
【Project Content】
Content Overview: This project consists of four modules: "An Interactive Approach to Teaching Module," "Understanding the Role of Language in the Classroom Module," "EMI Teaching Skills Module," and "Classroom Management and Integration Module." Please refer to [Attachment 1] for related information.
Course Duration: From the date of key activation until Thursday, July 31, 2025, totaling 30-40 hours.
Target Participants: EMI teachers from all disciplines at universities and colleges are eligible to apply.
Equipment Requirements: A smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer capable of properly viewing and listening to videos. It is recommended that the hardware device's browser be updated to the latest version.
Completion Requirements: This project is conducted through asynchronous online learning. Participating teachers can complete the four modules online at any time and location within the course period (until July 31, 2025). Upon completion, they will receive an Oxford EMI electronic certificate.
【Review and Subsidy Principles】
Registration Period: Until Tuesday, December 31, 2024. Registration will close early if the quota is filled.
Maximum Number of Participants: 50 people.
Registration Method: Online registration only; application form available at https://forms.gle/hA5eS4Hs4tcGUQyX7(The registration quota is filled.). Please refer to [Attachment 2] for registration information.
Review and Notification: The Center's Project Director and Project Executive Director will review the application forms. Results will be sent directly to applicants' email addresses.Subsidy Principle: The National Chung Hsing University " EMI Teaching and Learning Center " project funds cover the course fees for this project.
【Project Monitoring and Completion】
Teachers must complete all four project modules within the course period (from the key activation date until July 31, 2025).
After completing the course, teachers must complete a feedback form (https://forms.gle/Vr478JLQ9xGdQVSPA) within one week.After completing the training, Participants agree to be included in the Center's EMI teacher talent pool.
