Event Description

The EMI Professional Learning Festival brings educators together to share practical ideas, innovative approaches, and future directions for English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI), Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), and multilingual learning. It provides an exceptional platform to reflect on practice, build connections within education sectors, and celebrate the innovation, growth, and successful classroom practices developed by educators in recent years. Sessions will showcase best practices, real-world examples, and practical strategies that support learner engagement and meaningful learning through English, while looking ahead to the next chapter of EMI.

Program Streams & Formats

The festival program features 2 distinct streams to accommodate different pedagogical needs:
  1. EMI Stream: Specially tailored for tertiary educators and higher education professional development.
  2. CLIL Stream: Specially tailored for school teachers (primary and secondary education).
Session Formats include:
  • 30-Minute Presentations: Standard academic and practice sharing, including at least 5 minutes for discussion or Q&A.
  • 60-Minute Interactive Workshops: Hands-on sessions designed around active participation, collaboration, and practical classroom application.

Call for Presenters: Win a Scholarship to Australia!

Abstract submissions will open soon! Educators, researchers, and professionals are highly encouraged to apply. We especially welcome sessions that share innovative approaches, celebrate successful classroom practices, and support learning-centred teaching.
  • Presenter Competition: Exciting news! Accepted presenters will be eligible to enter a competition to win a fully funded scholarship to attend Adelaide University's prestigious EMI Public Program in Adelaide, Australia. (Further details will be announced soon).
