課程簡介：
Design of chemical engineering processes and plants requiring application of unit operations, chemical process principles, economic analysis and synthesis and optimization of chemical processes. This course is a major piece of group work, carried out under minimal supervision, which enables students to demonstrate the skills and knowledge gained elsewhere in the degree program. As such, the main learning process is activity based and associated with the undertaking of an open-ended, minimally defined, project. E-resources will be provided for students' reference.

課程設計：
此課程將以化工學會每年所提供大學部的程序設計競賽作為課程主軸，課程將圍繞在本年度題目。民國112年程設競賽題目為設計一個年產量 10,000 Nm3 /h 之氫氣製程。配合此次計畫，我們將到台塑工廠參訪，讓同學更能了解工廠運作模式，以及最重要的工安問題，經過工廠參訪，同學不僅可以感受題目與競賽來的真實性，並更能夠成為一位合格的工程師或老闆。課程期間，同學需自行上網查找文獻、資料或是學習怎麼使用Aspen Plus這套軟體，並進行經濟評估。同學們更需要的是互相溝通或是與助教及老師討論。提升同學溝通能力。將於學期末進行競賽，競賽目的是要讓同學與口試委員進行切磋，需要反思哪邊沒考慮周全，這樣會導致工廠意外甚至爆炸，或是產品達不到客戶要求。
